Ukrain (UN) is a semisynthetic thiophosphoric acid compound of alkaloids isolated from Chelidonium major (L). It is the new antimalignancy remedy, effective enough both in vivo and in vitro in its cytotoxic ability for many types of cancer cells. It has no adverse effects on normal cell cultures at concentrations toxic to all the cancer cells under study (5,6). The new anti-influenza strategy (NAS), as it has become known recently, is a suitable base for considering remedies as potential influenza treatments (2-4). UN was investigated as an anti-influenza remedy in this study.
