In the present study, we examined the long term effect of Ukrain on the some biochemical and biomechanical parameters in ovariectoaized rats. Ovariectomy is recognized as a model of experimental osteoporosis. The animals received intraperitoneally /ip/ injections of Ukrain a dose of 28 mg/kg, every other day for six months starting from the second day after the operation. Ovariectomy caused the changes in the peripheral blood morphology, the activity of aninotransferases /ALT and AST/ and in the total serum protein level as well as in the serum hormones concentration and in the levels of catechoiamines in the whole brain of rats. The changes were also observed in the strength of the both humani of the ovariectomized rats. The above para-meters caused by ovariectomy were prevented by the administration of Ukrain. The group of ovariectonized rats which received Ukrain practically did not differ from the control group.
